You may find that you want to go back to the other side with no means of getting there. It is quite possible that you may need a recommendation from this employer in the future.

Simple letter of resignation
Remember These rules While Writing Letter of Resignation :
1. Always include the date of the letter and the company's address.
2. Try to be personal and write the name of your boss or head of the department. Dear Sir or Dear Madam is inappropriate.
3. Indicate your last day at work. If you are on a contract that requires a one month notice, then give a one month notice.
4. While you may be really happy to leave the company, try to express a some remorse that you have to leave.
5. Don't be ungrateful! The job may have been lousy and offered little or no benefits but there is always something you can be grateful for. You can express gratitude for the knowledge and experience you gained while working at the company.
6. Finally, wish your boss and the company the best for the future.
A resignation letter does not need to be lengthy. You do not have to explain to your employer why you are leaving, or where you will be going. When you have handed in your resignation letter, don't forget that you are still an employee until the last day stated in your letter. Maintain your professionalism, avoid tardiness at all costs, and continue to be productive. You should aim to leave a good impression because anything could happen.
